Between mountains and rivers

Camarasa is a small hidden treasure, surrounded by impressive natural landscapes. Its location a little further down the aquifer of the Segre and La Noguera Pallaresa, together with the other centers of its municipal area: Sant Llorenç de Montgai, L’Ametlla del Montsec, La Baronia de Sant Oïsme, Fontllonga, Figuerola de Meià and La Maçana offer a wide range of tourist activities and excursions.

In addition to nature, the town’s historical heritage does not leave anyone indifferent. In Camarasa you can visit the town with its medieval castle and the ruins of the church of Sant Miquel and the Old Bridge (medieval). In its surroundings you can make excursions and visits such as:

El Congost del Mu, L’Ermita i el Pla de Sant Jordi, La Cova del Tabac, El Merengue.

In Sant Llorenç de Montgai you can take the circular route through its reservoir, L’Ermita and the Castle of Sant Llorenç de Montgai (circular route), and the Neanderthal site of La Roca dels Bous.

In La Maçana we find the paleontological site of ichnites. Strolling through Fontllonga there is the Romanesque church of Sant Miquel and the ruins of the Castle with a great panorama of the Montsec de Rubies and Ares mountains.

In the small town of Baronia de Sant Oïsme, you can visit the Romanesque church of Sant Bartomeu and climb the Torre de la Baronia with a view of the Camarasa reservoir.

The center of L’Ametlla del Montsec at the foot of the mountain allows several excursions such as the Castle of Montaspre and discovering the Pedrera de Meià.
