A town with great charm
Located in the first foothills of the Serra del Montsec at 488 meters above sea level and four km from the farmhouse, you will find Os de Balaguer through which the Farfanya river passes, which together with Gerb and Alberola form the municipality.
Crowned by the Castle of Os, of Islamic origin, it has a walled enclosure, the parish church with a Baroque facade and a square bell tower. Inside, we find a Gothic room and its museum of Catalan bells. (The last Sunday of April is celebrated Trobada de Campaners)
At the beginning of December, the traditional Fira dels Áspres is celebrated with craft stalls and local products.
You can visit: Ermita de Cérvoles, Ermita de Ntra. Sra. of Aguilar Cova dels Vilars (balma) with cave paintings (29 figures) and overlooking the course of the Farfanya river. Very close is the Monastery of Santa Maria de Bellpuig de les Avellanes where the Romanesque cloister is preserved.
