The charm of a town with history and nature
At 592 meters above sea level, at the foot of the summit of La Malera and two km. from the farmhouse, there is Tartareu which belongs to the municipality of Les Avellanes and Santa Linya.
A small town that falls in love from the first moment with a privileged location in the middle of nature and with a rich historical heritage. Below the ruins of the Tartareu Castle of Arab origin, where you can find the Romanesque Hermitage of Sant Miquel, the parish church of Santa Maria de Tartareu located in the upper part of the town.
The village’s old school has become the Center for the Revitalization of Tartareu’s Heritage, Historical, Natural and Rural.
Very close is the Font de la Mora, Clot de les Bombes, the natural Cave of Joan d’Os located on the northern slope of the Sierra de la Mora.
